A former hunting ground of the Maharaja of Patiala, Chail Wildlife Sanctuary is amongst the lesser known wildlife sanctuaries in the country. It is situated 63 km from Shimla in Himachal Pradesh. Chail is one of the most well maintained wildlife sanctuaries and houses a rich collection of flora and fauna.
